PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the vibration brought to a roller frame of a sheet-fed rotary press and the effect of this vibration deteriorating the quality of a printed article manufactured by the rotary press. SOLUTION: A roller such as a coating roller of the sheet-fed rotary press is constituted of a roller shaft 12 and a roller mantle 14. The roller shaft 12 is supported on lateral frames 1.1 and 1.2 of the roller frame 1 by roller bearings 13 and thrust into the roller mantle 14 with radial bearing rings 15 interlaid. Between the roller shaft 12 and the roller mantle 14, torque is transmitted by friction.
