PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that a conventional image processing apparatus has caused a contrary effect in printing a gradation-drawn image with a color material of only K without use of YMC color materials although printing a gray character or a gray drawing with a color material of only K without use of YMC color materials provides a sharp output without causing an unsharpened contour. SOLUTION: The attribute of an object of which image is to be drawn is detected (S601-S604, S607, S607) and colors expressed in a plurality of color components are converted into mixture of colors or a single color on the basis of the result of detection (S605, S611).
