PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data line driving circuit for an electro-optical panel which has a small area occupied by the circuit and can be driven with lower power consumption. SOLUTION: When a digit of the highest order bit D3 is '0',γ-correction switches 241-243 become all in the ON state, andγ-correction is not performed. On the other hand, when the digit of the highest order bit D3 is '0', theγ-correction switches 241-243 become in the ON state according to the data values of lower order bits D0-D2, andγ-correction is performed. Namely, it is possible to switch whether or not to provideγ-correction according to whether the gradation to be displayed is on white side or black side. Moreover, since DAC capacities CD0-CD2 are used in both cases irrespective of the presence or absence ofγ-correction, a circuit scale can be reduced.
