PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of easily forming a desired image on a surface of a vehicle body or the like and arbitrarily surely removing the image as needed. SOLUTION: A method for forming the image comprises the steps of forming a toner image on resin layer of a transfer material having the resin layer containing a polyvinyl alcohol including a water repellent as a main body on a base material having mold releasability by an electronically copying method, contacting the image with a surface of the transfer material wetted by a fixing liquid containing a lower alcohol as a main body to soften the toner, heating the image to temporarily fix the image on a surface of a material to be transferred, and then completely fixing the image by utilizing an infrared dryer. Thus, the image formed on the material to be transferred, that is, the surface of the vehicle body or the like can be surely removed without damaging the material to be transferred by using two types of removing liquids containing (1) a solvent containing an aromatic hydrocarbon as a main body and (2) a mixture liquid made of 1-5C lower alcohol, a lower carboxylic acid and an amide solvent.
