PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a liquid crystal display and a touch contact switch in combination. SOLUTION: This touch contact switch is equipped with the liquid crystal display 11 having at least two glass substrates 12 and 13 stacked across conductive layers 15 and 16 equipped with terminals for displaying independent segments of liquid crystal. At least one of sensor elements 19, 21, and 22 of the touch contact switch is provided below the top surface 14 of the touch contact switch and this sensor element can be operated by touching the top surface of the liquid crystal display. While the known sensor elements 19, 21, and 22 can be arranged below the liquid crystal display, other parts of conductive layers can be driven through interval operation to display liquid crystal display symbol and to achieve both the purposes as the sensor surface.
