PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust the white balance of a video signal to the optimum state in an imaging unit in compliance with the sate of the color temperature change of an imaging light source. SOLUTION: A white balance regulating function of an imaging unit of adjusting the white balance of the video signal to the optimum state in compliance with the state of the color temperature change of an imaging light source is provided by a control system which has a target value setting step (S22) to set a white balance target value in compliance with the color temperature of the imaging light source, a control step (S28) to control so as to bring the white balance value of a video signal close to the target value, and change steps (S25 and S26) to change the control time constant of a control means in compliance with the variation of the target value.
