The tractor has a chassis with a longitudinal and transversal axis, fitted with four wheels whose ground pressure points are designed to be at an angle to the horizontal plane. Control and ground angle measuring systems ensure that whatever ground contours traversed by the tractor its chassis is always kept in the horizontal plane The chassis has a guide system (16) designed to guide in a direction sensible perpendicular to the chassis the wheel axes (24). The vehicle includes independent wheel (10,12) axes (24), mechanically connected to the chassis (14) whose relative position is adjustable along an axis perpendicular to the median chassis plane; an angle measuring unit for the angle between chassis and horizontal planes; an adjusting unit (26) which modifies the position of the axes (24) relative to the chassis and; a control unit designed to actuate the adjusting unit as a function of the results from the measuring unit so that the chassis plane is horizontal whatever the ground contour crossed.
