PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide portable telephone terminal equipment for reducing power consumption and reducing the strength of a radio wave to be transmitted from an antenna, when the antenna has a specified length. SOLUTION: It is detected by a mechanical switch 2 that an antenna L has a specified length and is converted to an electrical signal by a detecting circuit 3. A line quality detecting part 5 decides the propriety of line quality, by calculating the strength of the radio signal from the signal received by the antenna 1 and detected by a detecting part 4. On the basis of the output signals of the detecting circuit 3 and the line quality detecting part 4, a transmission power output control part 6 controls the gain of a power amplifying part 8 so as to transmit the radio wave from the antenna 1 with the minimum transmission power, capable of maintaining the quality of the communication line, when the antenna has the specified length.
