PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper separating device of a printing machine by which a paper jamming phenomenon is prevented and the damage of an image fixed on paper is prevented. SOLUTION: This device is provided with: a separating member which is adjacently provided at one side of a transfer roller, whose both end parts are fixed to the bearing guide of the transfer roller and which is turned by a specified angle with the bearing guide; a guide roller which is provided on the upper surface of the separating member and which guides the ejection of the paper; a turning limiting means to limit the turning angle of the separating means and the bearing guide; and an elastic force applying means to apply elastic force in one direction so that the separating member and the bearing guide maintain a specified position. By this constitution, in the case that pressing force that the paper applies to the upper surface of the separating member by sticking force between the paper and the transfer roller is larger than the elastic force applied by the elastic force applying means, the separating member and the bearing guide are turned by the specified angle. Thus, the interval between the transfer roller and the separating member is accurately maintained, so that the interruption of the paper into a space between them is suppressed by minimizing the interval.
