ACOUSTIC MATCHING MEMBER AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for an acoustic matching member that is applied to an ultrasonic transmission/reception wave unit, especially for an acoustic matching member that takes matching of an acoustic impedance between a means generating an ultrasonic wave and a gas, and optimally trades off the degree of attenuation of a sound propagated through aggregates being components of the acoustic matching member and the acoustic impedance of the aggregates that are inconsistent to each other. SOLUTION: Minute pieces 8 are collected and heated at a temperature at which the material of the minute pieces is softened so that the minute pieces are jointed together at their contact faces, and a weight is applied to the minute pieces to configure an aggregate 7. Thus, the density of the aggregate 7 and the joined strength of the minute pieces 8 can freely be adjusted.
