PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing the objective adamantane (tricyclodecane[3.3.1.13,7]) in high selectivity, when the adamantane is produced by isomerization of tetrahydrodicyclo-pentadiene(tricyclodecane[5.2.1.02,6]) in the presence of HF.BF3 catalyst. SOLUTION: When the isomerization reaction is carried out in the presence of HF.BF3 catalyst, at least one selected from the metals in the groups 8, 9 and 10 of the periodic table and hydrogen are included in the reaction system.
