PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing a 1,3-disilacyclobutane compound having specified unsaturated reactive terminal carbon-carbon double bonds, a process for economically producing a polysilylene methylene polymer or copolymer having the specified unsaturated reactive groups, and a process for producing a crosslinked polysilyene methylene having a crosslinked structure formed by the specified unsaturated reactive groups. SOLUTION: The process for producing the 1,3-disilacyclobutane compound comprises reacting a specified dihalosilane compound with a specified bishalomethylsilane compound in the presence of a Grignard reagent. The process for producing the polysilylene methylene polymer or copolymer comprises subjecting a 1,3-disilacyclobutane compound having the specified unsaturated reactive group to ring-opening polymerization in the presence of a metal catalyst. The process for producing the crosslinked polysilylene methylene comprises allowing the polysilylene methylene to crosslink in the presence of a free-radical generator.
