PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pattern layout method capable of providing an electrode pattern to be a desired electric element quantity with a little labor and time. SOLUTION: The structure data file 13 of the electrode pattern is prepared by extracting the apex coordinates and terminal coordinates of the electrode pattern on CAD from CAD data. While using this structure data file 13 and a previously found sheet resistance value 11, the electric resistance value of the electrode pattern is found by a finite element method or the like. When the electric resistance value is a desired value, on the basis of a structure data file 13n at that time, the electrode pattern is generated. When it is not the desired value, a new structure data file 13n based on a design rule file 14 is prepared until the electric resistance value becomes the desired value, and the electric resistance value is repeatedly calculated until it becomes equal with a required resistance value.
