PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To operate a rotor in a controlled state and in a decontrolled state without consciousness of change operation in a lever brake type spinning reel. SOLUTION: This lever brake type spinning reel is equipped with a braking part 20 capable of braking the rotation of the rotor in the fishing line playing out direction, a braking lever 21 for increasing a braking force of the braking part 20 by an operation in a direction approaching an installation part 2c, a second coil spring 24 for applying a fixed braking force to the rotor at the braking part 20 by pressing the braking lever 21 and a releasing lever 22 for moving back the braking lever 21 by pressing the second coil spring 24 and releasing a fixed braking state. The releasing lever 22 and the braking lever 21 are closely arranged and can be operated by the same finger in the same direction.
