PURPOSE: Structure of a tailstock of a grinding machine is provided to restrain a sleeve from being inclined due to a moment by evenly dispersing the force applied to the sleeve. CONSTITUTION: A tailstock of a grinding machine includes a bracket(49) moving forwardly and rearwardly by a piston(50), a pusher(46) adjusting the elasticity of a spring(43) while transmitting the forward and rearward motion of the rod to a sleeve, a sleeve(42) moving forwardly and rearwardly inside a tailstock body(41), a rod(48) moving forwardly and rearwardly by the forward and rearward motion of the bracket, a spring(43) applying elasticity to the sleeve, a cover(44) closing the rear face of the sleeve, set screws(47) installed symmetrically to fix the bracket and the pusher, a span ring(51) connecting the bracket with the pusher, a stopper(52) for combining the pusher with the rod, and a lock nut(45) for fixing the stopper. When the bracket moves forwardly or rearwardly, a force is uniformly transmitted by the set screws and dispersed by the pusher. Therefore, the sleeve is restrained from being inclined.
