PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus are provided to extract from a natural substance only pure volatile fragrance constituents in a large amount in which simultaneous extraction or residual solvent of toxic texture constituents is not present, and the constituents are not changed by thermal decomposition and hydrolysis. CONSTITUTION: The method for extracting volatile fragrance constituents of a natural substance comprises the steps of injecting a certain amount of a natural substance sample into a container which is sealed except for an inlet and an outlet; extracting volatile fragrance constituents by supplying a fixed amount of refined gas into a sample container in a constant pressure in which a natural substance sample is filled; and collecting the extracted volatile fragrance constituents into an adsorption tube in which a certain adsorbent is filled by creating pressure reduction conditions using a pressure reducing means. The apparatus comprises a gas supply means which comprises a gas flow meter(2) and a gas refining tube(4) and supplies a certain amount of gas through a gas supply branch pipe(6) in a certain pressure; a fragrance constituent extraction means which comprises two sealing type sample containers(8) oppositely combined with a space gasket(9) being between the sample containers(8), in which a certain natural substance sample is filled, and which extracts the natural substance sample by receiving a gas from the gas supply means; and a fragrance constituent adsorption means which comprises an adsorption tube(12) collecting volatile fragrance constituents extracted by the fragrance constituent extraction means, and which is connected to a branch pipe(13) extended from a vacuum pump(15) so that internal vacuum conditions are created for adsorbing the fragrance constituents. |
