PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate or largely reduce dragging feeling occurring when rapid shift operation is conducted at gear connecting shift operation and to improve operation feeling for a shift operation device reducing shift operating force of a driver by generating assist force by an electric motor at shift operation of a shift lever for shift operating a transmission of a vehicle. SOLUTION: The shift operating force is detected and accelerating current proportional to the shift operating force is added to be supplied to the electric motor assisting the shift operating force as well as ordinary assist current. Therefore, acceleration of the electric motor especially immediately after shift operation starting is promoted. Thus, the dragging feeling is eliminated or at least largely reduced.
