DIAGNOSTIC METHOD FOR OVEN WALL OF COKE OVEN AND DIAGNOSTIC APPARATUS THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oven-wall diagnostic method whereby uneven sites of oven wall bricks of a combustion chamber or carbonization chamber of a coke oven are easily and accurately judged from the upper side of the oven without contacting the sites; and a compact oven-wall diagnostic apparatus therefor. SOLUTION: While continuously or intermittently varying the a radiation angle (α) by moving or rotating, around a reference point 12, a laser light radiation section 11 of a laser range finder 1 positioned above the oven, laser light is radiated from the laser light radiation section 11 to scan an oven wall 3 of an object chamber 2 to be measured. By the scanning, information directly or indirectly exhibiting the relation between the laser light radiation angle (α) and the distance (d) from the reference point 12 to the radiated site of the oven wall 3 is obtained. Basing upon the information, the unevenness of the oven wall 3 is found and the wall 3 is diagnosed.
