PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gel-like cosmetic high in salinity resistance, capable of forming a gel having special physical properties including significant thixotropic tendency, high resilience and very quick restorativeness even after put to gel degradation, good in take on a small tool such as a finger or mat when to be used, having good feeling when used such as fresh feel when applied and smooth spreadability, and also high in stability with time. SOLUTION: This gel-like cosmetic comprises (a) pectin, (b) a salt forming a polyvalent cation in its aqueous solution and (c) powder. The other version of this gel-like cosmetic comprises the ingredients (a), (b) and (c) and also (d) an oil ingredient. Either of the above two cosmetics is a makeup cosmetic.
