PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the earth pressure acting on a retaining wall, to reduce the building cost, to secure desired daylighting and ventilation, and to improve the living environment. SOLUTION: A slope A is cut down while the vicinity of the placing area of the retaining wall 13 is sheathed by sheet piles 22, and piles 14 are placed on the lower face C of a cut step section to construct a foundation 12 (footings 15 and foundation beams 16). The retaining wall 13 is placed integrally with the foundation 12 and inclinatorily at the prescribed angleθagainst the horizontal plane, and a building body 11 is constructed on the foundation 12. The retaining wall 13 is inclined to reduce the soil pressure a acting on it, and the space S between the retaining wall 13 and the building body 11 is used as an open space to secure the daylighting and ventilation for underground stories.
