PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material for a round bar which does not eventually bend, reliably suppresses the bend to be negligibly small so as not to raise any problems in the industrial use even when a bend occurs, and has no degradation in surface quality or material strength. SOLUTION: The index I1 calculated from the residual stressσz in the axial direction in the section by Equation 1, and the index I2 calculated by Equation 2 satisfy the inequalities 0<I1<0.001 and 0<I2<0.0007, where r is the radius of the material, S is the sectional area of the material, and E is the Young's modulus.
