PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat pump capable of naturally circulating an ammonia refrigerant and a carbon dioxide refrigerant even if cascade condensers cannot be installed at an upper part from an evaporator due to problems of an installing space, a structure, noise and the like of a building in a natural circulation type heat pump system having in combination the ammonia refrigerant and the carbon dioxide refrigerant. SOLUTION: The natural circulation type heat pump system comprises cascade condensers 3, an ammonia refrigerant system, a carbon dioxide refrigerant system so that a carbon dioxide gas generated by the carbon dioxide refrigerating system is guided to the capacitors 3 and heat exchanged with an ammonia liquid of the ammonia refrigerant system. The system further comprises pressure tanks 5-1 and 5-2 for containing liquefied carbon dioxide from the condensers 3 to heat the liquefied carbon dioxide via heat exchangers 5-1a and 5-2a to pressurize inside of the tanks 5-1 and 5-2, and the liquefied carbon dioxide is lifted to a serge tank 6 installed above the evaporator 4 of the carbon dioxide refrigerating system.
