METHOD FOR IMPROVING SHEAR SECTION QUALITY IN GUILLOTINE TYPE SHEARER

PURPOSE: A method for improving shear section quality in guillotine type shearer is provided to improve weldability during welding of steel coil using a laser welding machine by preventing tear or burr from generating on the shearing surface when shearing steel coil using guillotine type shearer to improve the shearing surface of the steel coil. CONSTITUTION: The method is characterized in that a liquefied gas is sprayed onto steel coil to be sheared to weaken ductility of the steel coil by sectionally cooling a portion of the steel coil to be sheared to DBTT (ductile to brittle transition temperature) or less before shearing the steel coil with guillotine type shearer, wherein a straight lined female groove is formed on a portion of the steel coil that is to be sheared along the portion.
