PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder with a simple structure and an excellent sheet separability at a low cost, and an image reader and an image forming device having the paper feeder. SOLUTION: A sheet 5 fed from a sheet feed means 14 by first separating members 3 installed on the downstream side of the sheet feed means 14 in sheet feeding direction and on both sides thereof is separated first. Next, the sheet is separated by a second separating member 8 installed on the downstream side of the first separating member 3 in sheet feeding direction so as to position between the first separating members 3 is separated secondly. Lastly, the sheet passed through the first separating member 3 is separated thirdly by the sheet feed means 13 feeding the sheet 5 while pressing against the second separating member 8.
