PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently sense a pressure pulse wave in the artery. SOLUTION: In a pressure pulse wave sensor provided with a pressure- receiving plate 1 supported so as to be flexible due to the action of an external force and a piezoelectric conversion means PE for converting the flexibility of the plate 1 to an electric signal, the flexible region of the plate 1 is formed to be a dome shape being a convex-curved face outwardly, and the flexible region deforms so as to have an elastic hinge equivalently when an external force acts on the top of the plate. The conversion means PE comprises a pressure sensing element 3 in the inside of the top PA in the plate 1.
