PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compose a gas meter for eliminating a test operation due to mischief by preventing a circuit in a test mode from being operated unless specific magnetic force is given externally. SOLUTION: In the gas meter comprising a cutoff valve 11 for cutting off the supply of gas by detecting the generation of the causes of alarm/cut-off where criteria have been preset, and a test switch 5 for operating the cutoff valve by operating the circuit in a test mode, the test switch detects magnetic force with a specific level from the outside and operates the circuit in a test mode. As a result, the gas meter cannot be operated by magnetic force in the degree of that of a permanent magnet normally on the market, and is test- operated for the first time by stronger magnetic force so that the circuit in a test mode cannot be operated unless magnetic force with a specific level is given from a magnetism generator 15 that an engineer has, thus preventing mischief.
