摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems of a conventional drive method in which an electronic shutter start and end time to each pixel differs from each other so that sharp video signals cannot be obtained and the video signal cannot be obtained in proper timing in the case that an optical image of an object moving at a fast speed are picked up. SOLUTION: Stored electric charges in a photo diode PD1 are outputted as a signal Sig via a current amplifier transistor(TR) 1 and a TR Ton1 and stored in a capacitor C providing a resulting voltage Vs via a switch SW. Then the SW is thrown to a position of a terminal (b), a Toff1 is conductive for a period to reset the PD1, and an adder circuit IC2 provides an output of a difference of the signal Sig between the case that the PD1 stores the charges and the case that the PD1 stores no charge. Succeedingly, stored electric changes in a PD2 are outputted similarly to the above. In the solid-state image pickup device having a rolling shutter function as the above, the electric charges are stored at an interval of one vertical scanning period and read at a succeeding vertical scanning period.
