PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dip coating method which enables performing the coating with uniform thickness even when the thickness is relatively thick by using a coating liquid of high viscosity. SOLUTION: It is a feature of this dip coating method applying the coating liquid 2 on a columnar or cylindrical object 1 to be coated that this method has the process in which a float 5 provided with a circular hole larger than an outer diameter of outer periphery of cross-section of the column or cylinder is floated on the coating liquid and the object 1 to be coated is dipped into the coating liquid 2 through the hole and subsequently is taken up.
