PURPOSE: An apparatus for confirming the result of facsimile transmission in a facsimile transmission system using an IP network is provided to allow a transmission side to confirm facsimile data transmission status and transmission time. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for confirming the result of facsimile transmission in a facsimile transmission system using an IP network includes a message generator(50) and a facsimile network driver(40). The message generator generates a message that is added to transmission facsimile data in the event of transmission of facsimile data, to be used for confirming the result of facsimile data transmission. The message generator further generates a message that is retransmitted to a transmission side when the facsimile data is received. The facsimile network driver adds the message delivered from the message generator when the facsimile data is transmitted to transmission facsimile data control information to construct facsimile data, and divides the facsimile data into packets. The driver combines packets received, extracts the message added to the facsimile data control information to apply it to the message generator, and retransmits the message sent from the message generator to the transmission side. The driver converts the retransmitted message into facsimile data to send it to a transmission facsimile when a message returned by a reception side is identical to the message transmitted in the event of transmission of facsimile data.
