PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the deodorizing work on a carpet laid all over the floor by using a water-dispersed deodorizing liquid containing a scarcely water-soluble inorganic deodorizing agent and having excellent stability, processability and handleability and spraying the deodorizing liquid on the laid carpet. SOLUTION: The deodorizing liquid is composed of an aqueous dispersion containing a deodorizing agent consisting of a combination of an amine compound and an inorganic material and having an average particle diameter of <=10μm, a binder resin for attaching the deodorizing agent to a carpet pile yarn and a thickener composed of xanthan gum of an amount of 0.01-0.5 wt.% based on the total liquid.
