SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in sulfonation of unsubstituted phthalocyanines by chlorosufonic acid in high-boiling inert solvent at 180-210 C at mole ratio of starting phthalocyanine and chlorosulfonic acid of 1:2-8. In the course of sulfonation, sulfoacids of phthalocyanines are formed; preferable content of sulfogroups in these acids may change from one to four depending on nature of central atom of metal and amount of chlorosulfonic acid used in the process.
