PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communicating navigation system that is provide with an emergency message function. SOLUTION: The communicating navigation system 1 is added with an emergency communication exclusive button 7, a MODEM 5, and a portable telephone 6. A software program to realize the emergency message function through sharing the hardware resource of the communicating navigation system 1 is installed from a CD ROM 8. Utilizing the hardware resource of the communicating navigation system 1 can simply realize the function of an emergency message on-vehicle unit. A user uses a remote controller to enter numeral data for an ID of the emergency message on-vehicle unit to register the ID. When the telephone number of the emergency message center is revised, the user enters the revised telephone number to set the telephone number to the unit.
