PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation detecting device having no dislocation and no delamination on light detecting elements and phosphors, having no light loss between phosphor layers and a light converter (including a substrate and light detecting elements), attaining a large light conversion efficiency, having no alteration on the outer peripheral sections of separate columnar phosphor layers, and having good durability, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: This radiation detecting device is provided with the light detecting elements two-dimensionally arranged on the substrate as picture elements and columnar phosphors corresponding to the light detecting elements one-to-one in a separated state. Each phosphor is laminated with phosphor layers to the required thickness.
