METHOD FOR LINKING MPLS NETWORK OF MPOA NETWORK AND ATM-BASED

PURPOSE: A method for linking MPLS network of MPOA network and ATM-based is provided to omit an IP(Internet Protocol) address look-up and connect MPOA and MPLS networks without joint when MPOA(Multi-Protocol Over ATM) network and ATM-based MPLS(Multi-Protocol Label Switching) are linked. CONSTITUTION: In an MPOA network of the starting point, a packet is transmitted from an original point of MPC(MPOA Client)(401) to an entering point of LER(Label Edge Router)(403) through a data direct virtual channel connection. In an MPLS network as a backbone, the packet is transmitted through a path of LSP(Label Switch Path). Also, in an MPOA network of the destination point, a packet is transmitted from an outgoing point of LER(Label Edge Router) to a destination point of MPC through a data direct virtual channel connection. Thereafter, the MPOA network detects the flow of packet and sets up a shorter way virtual connection from the original point of MPC(401) to the entering point of LER(403).
