PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polymer excellent in biodegradation property and safety, and satisfying various properties required in wide uses, and to provide a production method for the polymer. SOLUTION: The polymer has a repeating unit of 50-90% of formulae (1a), (1b) and/or (2a), (2b) as a hydrophilic part, and a repeating unit of 10-50% of two or more of formulae (3a), (3b)-(5a), (5b) as a hydrophobic part, and a production method for the polymer is provided (wherein, in each formula, R1 is a pendant group having a hydrophilic group, X1 and 3-5 are each a linking group such as NH, M is a metallic ion, or the like, R3 is a hydrocarbon group having a 4-12C straight chain, R4 is a hydrocarbon having a 13-20C straight chain, R5 is a hydrocarbon group having a 4-12C branched chain, and n1-3 is each 1 or 2.).
