PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polypropylene terephthalate fiber in which foulings on the spinneret and in the housing are prevented, the operating efficiency is improved and the fiber quality is stabilized. SOLUTION: This method for producing the polypropylene terephthalate fiber is characterized in that the distance L from the spinneret surface to a cooling device is 50-200 mm and the interior of a quench stack just under the spinneret is an air atmosphere kept at 30-80 deg.C dew point when melt spinning of the polypropylene terephthalate fiber is carried out.
