PURPOSE: Provided is a method for producing a spherical blue BAM phosphor which has a simplified manufacturing process, a shape of sphericity, and a particle diameter of less than 5 micrometer, and which increases a yield of the manufacturing process. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of (a) homogeneously mixing a fluorescent material comprising (i) ((CH3)2CHO)3)Al, (ii) barium compound selected from the group consisting of BaCO3, (CH3CO2)2Ba, and Ba(OH)28H2O, (iii) MgCO3 or (CH3CO2)2Mg4H2O, and (iv) Eu2O3, with molten material to form a mixture under glycol; (b) heat treating the mixture to 600-1000 deg.C in air to form a mixed material powder; (c) heat treating the powder in sealed reactor under atmosphere of mixed gas consisting of nitrogen and hydrogen. The glycol used in the step(a) is selected from ethylene glycol and 1,4-butanediol. |
