PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for measuring the distribution of wavelength dispersion which reduce the size of a near-end dead zone. SOLUTION: In the optical fiber wavelength dispersion distribution measuring device 100 for measuring the distribution of wavelength dispersion of a fiber to be measured 11, a PC 10 computes optimal input optical power, according to the propagation distance of light in the fiber to be measured 11 and outputs a power control signal corresponding to the computed input optical power to DFB-LDs 1 and 2. Input light having the power is amplified by an EDFA 6 and is inputted into the fiber to be measured 11. An OTDR 9 measures the distribution of the light intensity of FWM light generated in the fiber to be measured 11, and the PC 10 computes the distribution value of wavelength dispersion of the fiber to be measured 11, on the basis of the measured distribution of light intensity.
