PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a CAD system for a unit type building capable of easily performing design work. SOLUTION: This CAD system for a unit type building is provided with a floor plan designing means 31 for designing a floor plan for a unit type building. The floor plan designing means 31 is provided with a grid module generating means 42 for generating a plurality of grid module core wires which are crossed orthogonally with one another on the floor plan of for a unit type building to be set in a grid pattern, a shape selecting means 51 for selecting one rectangle by defining two points as vertexes on a diagonal line among a plurality of rectangles composed of grids when the two points are selected among a plurality of intersection points of the grid module core wires, and a building unit setting means 52 for setting the rectangle selected by the shape selecting means 51 as a building unit.
