PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a method and a display system for updating an image frame on a display screen without increasing the power consumption of the processing and the memory consumption. SOLUTION: An image frame including a frame and line synchronization signal is transferred to a display unit 116 from a control system 104. The display unit is provided with a display screen 122 which displays an image frame, a frame buffer 120 which conducts buffering of the frame prior to the transferring of the frame to the screen through a transfer bus 124 and a display interface 112 which receives the image frame from the control system to the frame buffer. The frame and the line synchronization signal from the image frame to be updated on the screen are coupled to the control system. Moreover, the control system is timed based on the pulses included in the frame and the line synchronization signal to input a new image frame into the frame buffer so that the new image frame is not stored onto the image frame being updated.
