PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system that can simply provide community-based information to subscribers. SOLUTION: A communication terminal (11) is connected to a subscriber exchange (13) via a subscriber line (12). The subscriber exchange (13) is configured with a subscriber exchange (14), a switch (15) and a LAN (16). The subscriber line (12) is alternatively connected to the subscriber exchange (14) and the LAN (16) via a corresponding switch (15). In the case of usual communication, the communication terminal (11) makes dialing according to a usual method. On the other hand, when the communication terminal (11) accesses a resource of the LAN (16) such as a Web page of a WWW server (17), the communication terminal (11) dials '0AB0' to take part in the LAN (16). Then the communication terminal (11) transmits a transfer request to the WWW server (17) according to the usual procedure and receives a desired HTML document and its related files. The LAN (16) is separated from the Internet (21) by a proxy server (20).
