PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method that can eliminate a surrounding noise due to unnecessary information surrounding an original with high accuracy even when no space exists around the original to be imputed. SOLUTION: Ranges 12-15 to seek surrounding noises at upper/lower/left/right parts of an image of an original 10 read by an input section 2, such as a scanner, are decided. An object area of the surrounding noise is detected by using the decided retrieval ranges 12-15 for an object, the surrounding noise object area is rechecked from the information of the detected surrounding noise object area for preventing a part of the information area, such as characters and photograph from including the object area of the surrounding noise. The object area of the surrounding noise is separated from the information area as the surrounding noise area, and the separated surrounding noise area is removed. |
