PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone wherein, when incoming call is generated and a necessary operation is not performed with an operating means, sounding is performed for a prescribed time at prescribed intervals with a sounding means, and it is repeated for a prescribed number of times, thereby notifying of the incoming call to the owner. SOLUTION: When an incoming call is generated by access from an other party (step 10) and there is no response by key operation (step 11), the incoming call is stored as an incoming call having no response in a storage device. After that, when a button operation (response) is performed (step 12: Y), a series of subsequent operations for informing the incoming call are not performed. The button operation during incoming call is identical. When the button operation is not performed, a prescribed time interval is kept (step 13), and sounding is performed (step 14) for a prescribed time with a sounding part 22. This operation is performed until for the preset number of times (step 15).
