SOLUTION: As for the lens incorporated type camera constituted of a camera body 1 and a zoom lens L, a lens type code for distinguishing the type of the zoom lens L is added to a code plate 27a with a focal distance code corresponding to the absolute position of the zoom lens L formed, and also, a camera type setting switch SWK for setting the camera type is arranged in the camera body 1, and it is decided by a CPU 10 whether or not the lens type corresponding to the lens type code detected by a zoom encoder circuit 27 is matched with the camera type set by the camera type setting switch SWK, and in the case they are mismatched, an alarm display is displayed on an LCD panel 15, and the subsequent camera action is stopped.
