PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and accurately set a cell gap with high precision in a sticking stage for display panel manufacturing. SOLUTION: A method for sticking display panel substrates to each other includes a stage where a first substrate 10 and a second substrate 12, on which a seal material 14 is arranged, so as to form a cut off area 30 between inside areas in edge parts of first and second substrates are aligned and held, a stage, where a spacer 20 of which the thickness is substantially equal to that of a prescribed cell gap, is inserted to the waste area between the first and second substrates, a stage where the first and second substrates are pressed to determine the cell gap, a stage where the seal material is hardened, and a stage where the spacer is extracted.
