PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a GPS (satellite position measuring system) and a GPS (satellite position measuring) data server which can easily measure the position without being aware of the present position. SOLUTION: A GPS position measuring system comprises at least one mobile station for receiving radio waves from satellites to measure the position coordinates; a plurality of fixed stations having specified position coordinates for receiving radio waves from the satellites; and arithmetic processing means connected by communication at least to the one mobile station and the plurality of fixed stations, for selecting an adequate fixed station and transmitting reference position measuring data of the selected fixed station to the mobile station, based on the position measurement data transmitted from at least the one mobile station. A GPS position measuring data server comprises a first communication interface for receiving position measurement data from a mobile station capable of measuring the position coordinates by receiving radio waves from satellites, a second communication interface for receiving position measurement data from the plurality of fixed stations having position coordinates fixed to known points for receiving radio waves from the satellites, and arithmetic processing means for selecting an adequate fixed station among the plurality of fixed stations based on the position measurement data received from the first interface.
