PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic radial tire capable of increasing the high-speed durability while limiting the weight of the tire to be equivalent to or less than the weight of a tire having only a belt edge cushion rubber layer. SOLUTION: In the pneumatic radial tire with a belt layer 3 disposed on the outer circumferential side of a carcass layer 2 of a tread part 1, a plurality of cord layers formed of an organic fiber cord f wound in the tire circumferential direction are disposed between an end part 3a of the belt layer 3 and the carcass layer 2, and a belt edge reinforcing layer 4 of substantially wedge-shaped section covered with a rubber r is interposed therebetween.
