PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit a character message to a terminal on the other end without troubling the user even if there is no response to a call out or character message transmission. SOLUTION: A control portion 40 is equipped with a microcomputer as a main control unit and controls various parts in a centralized manner. The functions implemented by the control portion 40 include a communication controlling function of establishing a communication link based on radio communication between this terminal and a base station BS, and carrying out voice communication and transmission and reception of electronic mail through a mobile communication network to which the base station BS is connected, a function of creating telephone directory data and historic records on transmission and reception of telephone calls and electronic mail, and storing the data and records in a storing portion 41, and a function of clocking. Further, the control portion 40 is provided as a new control function with a function of automatically transmitting mail created by the user in advance if there is no response from the target of a call out or transmission for a specified time after a call out for voice communication or transmission of electronic mail is carried out.
