PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for distributing image sent from a facsimile machine to a portable terminal. SOLUTION: The method for distributing the image sent from the facsimile machine 110 to the portable terminal 310, includes a step of transmitting a reception request of the image together with a mail address of an image distribution destination, a step of transmitting a facsimile number of the image destination on based a received request, a step of storing the image sent from the facsimile machine 110 based on the facsimile number, a step of transmitting a message denoting the transmitted image together with a URL(uniform resource locator) denoting a storage location of the image to the mail address of the distribution destination, and a step of distributing the stored image to the portable terminal 310 when the portable terminal 310 accesses the URL.
