PURPOSE: A river water purification apparatus constructed in water's edge is provided to utilize water's edge as site for river water purification. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a screen(110) for removing adulteration; a centrifugal separation tank for removing inorganic solids by centrifugal force; a contact oxidation tank(130) for removing suspended solids by biofilm of contact media; a two-stage media tank(140) for removing organics, nitrogen and phosphorus by oxidation, nitrification and denitrification processes; and a soil trench(150) for removing residual nitrogen and phosphorus through cover soil. Media of the contact oxidation tank(130) is one or more of gravel, brick, rubble, concrete, ceramic, and polymer. And media of the two-stage media tank(140) is one or more of brick, waste building materials, and polymer for upper stage, one or more of sand, anthracite, and little gravel for lower stage.
